Description

As much as it pains me to say, the bruins look unbeatable heading into the playoffs this year. However, I think you can never have too much depth which is where this trade comes in. While I think the Bruin's center depth is pretty good, there guys are a little older which could mean they are more likely to get injured in a long playoff run. Even though they have some cap space, I think they could make this move and stash Monahan on LTIR until the playoffs (and he can be their Kucherov)

Assuming he becomes healthy and plays like he did at the start of the season, both teams will be happy. If he doesn't return or the conditions arent met, then a 4th isn't too much to lose.

I wonder if that truly is the reason he hasn't come back to play yet... hughes keeping him on LTIR so that he can be shipped out to a cap-strapped team that only really needs him for their playoff run

I’m pretty certain you need to have the cap space on your team to add him to then have him on LTIR. I could be mistaken though.

If they retain his cap hit is around 3 mil and I think the bruins have 1.5 in cap space. Would need to make another move but I defietly think its possible
