That makes sense but from what I learned he has to make $10m/yr aav to match is previous year's salary the rule changed in 2019 I believe that the limit is %120 of his aav which is like $7.2M I believe but he signed his contract before that rule was implemented....let's not try to say we know exactly how this works but I'm almost 120% he has to make $10M aav which means a long term deal doesn't really do much to benefit the team if he's paid $15M in bonus next season has a $10M aav and gets paid a cheaper salary as the deal goes on the team still suffers from a $10M aav, I'd sign to maybe 3 years at 10 and see if he takes but it's a lot of money to live up to.
