Best Possible Move by Bergevin

Created by: Montreality25
Team: 2017-18 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 16, 2017
Published: Jun. 16, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Habs desperatly need a Center, Dylan Strome is their guy. They also get a defenseman to replace Sergachev with the 7th OA pick. Yotes get a LW/C with Elite potential in Galchenyuk and also have a great goalie prospect who can replace Mike Smith. Makes sense for both teams

I assume you personnaly know Calle Makar for putting him here before being drafted... wink

They, Strome and Makar, sure are talented, but Montreal Canadiens are not the Edmonton Oilers putting five teenagers on their top six.
Trading someone like Galchenyuk without bringing stability with a minimum of 200 games in NHL as a forward or a defenseman make no sense.

Actually i don't think the rumors that tells Galchenyuk is on the market beacause of the addition of Joe Drouin.
They surely both are good match on a line-up and if Bergevin put him on discussions it will be to add a solid top 4 defenseman of maximum 25 yo that already made is proof.

Anyway it's a good try and as a critic, i did not put in front my idea like you did, so i congrats you for the work made.

This is my favorite Armchair-GM so far. The trades may not go through and even though I also want the Canadiens to draft Makar the possibilities are near impossible with the 25th overall pick.

FYI the Canadiens have a pool of NHL ready prospects waiting for another injury season. Plus, if the Habs do get another Carey Price or Max Pacioretty injury season they can finally get a prospect better than Sergachev or maybe even better than Galchenyuk (Joe Veleno, Rasmus Dahlin, Andrei Svechnikov).
