Good luck next summer, When Connor Hellebuyck commands 8 x $10,000,000 he wants to be paid as one of the highest paid Goaltenders in the league.

Nobody will pay that, market for goalies is down, and recent contracts have shown that dumping big money into goalies doesn't really work out.

He might accept 8 x $9,000,000 but i seriously doubt he takes less. Especially in the highest taxed State in the Country.

I just did a similar scenario, but a key factor is Petersen has a M-NTC. He might be willing to go to the Jets to stay in the NHL but they might send him down as well. Walker is the most likely Kings player to be traded this offseason IMO so that could save you a lot of capspace.

I'd be seriously surprised that any team offers $9M to a goalie in the next 2-3 years, the demand just isn't there, teams are getting by with cheaper and cheaper goaltending.
