CBJ had probably the worst position in the expansion draft, since they had probably 10-11 forwards, 4 d-men and 2 goalies they would've liked to protect. So in order to "protect" the players they couldn't officially protect (Anderson, Calvert, Karlsson, Johnson, Korpisalo) they will give Sedlak as their official ED pick, Clarkson's contract as a cap dump, and a decent prospect and 1st round pick in order to make the protection offer more tempting, since McPhee has said that he would like to get some draft picks to this draft.
