The fact that they can wrap him up in a bridge deal for cheap while they have the cap space to do so. Also rewarding a player for a good year and taking the ease of his mind of not having to play for ur next deal year after year. Torts already plays enough mind games with players especially young ones. Making Frost play for his next deal year after year wondering if it’s his last is a mind game they don’t need to play.

Frost has like 60 good nhl games under his belt, ok MAYBE they give him a second year but he’s not getting more than 2

He’s 100% getting a deal of 2-3 years between $2.5-3M at the shortest. Don’t think they will sign him long term just yet but there is 0% chance they make him play on a 1 year deal again it’s just not something you do to a player like that and his agent would never let that happen.

A player like that meaning a guy who took five years to be an nhl third liner, what leverage does his agent have he’s an rfa

Dude come on this is ridiculous now. Laughton took like 6-7 years to get to the NHL and look at him now. We aren’t going to hardball one of our RFAs over an extra year or two during a rebuild when he is considered part of the core. I’m now seeing you just don’t like Frost rather than actually being objective towards him so this conversation is useless

Dude acting like Frost wasn't our 1C from January too lol. Frost has proved he can be a 2C in this league. The underlying numbers agree too. He was And the stuff about Torts hating him makes no sense considering there was literally an article put out saying Torts changed his perspective on him and really liked the way he responded.

Also I know that Necas isn't really involved here but it proves that if we had an even half decent powerplay, Frost would have probably been a 60 point guy this season:

Necas 5v5 scoring since Jan 1: 4g-10a-14p in 46 games (240th in the league)

Frost 5v5 scoring since Jan 1: 10g-16a-26p in 45 games (39th in the league)
