ERod is a fine option to throw by Mack. Open to options other than Rants.

Newhook with JLF's skating and playmaking(no finish yet) on a line with Eller would be a solid 3rd line. JLF would be the first to get dropped but, with the lack a natural shooter, it would force Newhook to be the guy who shoots and stop him from second guessing himself. Lars was a good player coach to him on how to be a reliable center and can handle some of the grittier action.

Eller at 34, doesn't get much more and if so, the Avs should look elsewhere. How much more do you think RoR gets and what contenders can afford it without making major moves?

Meyers at 4c is the simple in house option. Lars at 4c is cool too, I just like this balance a bit better.

for 20g and 50+ pts @ 5 mill its far more likely Avs bring back Compher instead of bringing in OReilly who was a known locker room cancer his last time on the Avs and he's slowed down A lot.
I think you'd be far better off targeting Barbashev for 2C duties this season tbh though, cheaper,much faster, overall a better fit stylistically for Avs systems.
If Avs are going full circle on anyone I'd like to see them bring back Graves over anyone else, G can switch to RD with him.

Think its worth taking a chance on Corey Perry on a 1 year league min contract? I think so. Meyers, Statsny ,Perry would be a nasty 4th line come playoffs.
and just to give you something to think about as well, Trading Girard opens the door to a lot more options, Can replace him with 1 of Soucy or Mayfield for cheaper and use the leftover 1-2 mill to get better forward depth than Eller. Especially if they get both Statsny, Perry on league min deals there will be plenty of space to add real quality depth pieces.
Eller and Nieto should not be brought back they are far too slow and don't hit enough to compensate. (i know you didn't bring back nieto , just stating.)

Barby is a ufa looking to get paid, he is someone I would rather the Avs try for JTC over, Isn;t he a winger? RoR is a known fit for what the Avs need out of a 2c.
Stastny cant skate but I wouldnt hate the idea of trying to find a spot for him, but both Nieto and Ellar are better and faster at this point.
