Ideas with active management to set up the Wings for a better future.

**Trade Mrazek to Arizona, or another team that needs a goalie (2nd or 3rd rounder)
**Acquire Niemi from Dallas. They intend to buy him out, so take the upcoming UFA and his $4.5M cap hit for a pick from Dallas, so they can free up cap space and goalie slots, and we can have a backup. Let him go after the season.
**Nashville needs Top 6 forwards to replace Neal. Send Tatar their way (either his rights, or a sign/trade) for Nashville's second best Defensive prospect and a pick.
**Don't make any stupid long-term deals for Oshie, Shattenkirk, etc. Only sign veteran guys who could be dealt at the deadline for more assets, on one-year deals. (Vanek in this scenario)
**You don't have to use all your cap space. Perhaps acquire other guys on expiring deals to help out cap-strapped teams for more draft picks.
**At the deadline, trade Mike Green, and retain half of his salary for a better return.

Lastly:
**TANK IN 2017-18. You have to lose to win in the NHL. Don't pretend this team can contend.
