If I was gm June 30

Description
I know I'm tossing all our picks but if i think these upgrades would be necessary to keep this team in contention for a couple of years before Crosby and co. are done.

1. Pittsburgh has been looking to move Petry for some time and it seems like the Sharks may be their best bet. Also upgrading Peohling to Barabonov, who has shined while played for an awful San Jose Sharks team. Dumping this contract and upgrading at wing costs quite a bit.

2. Hellebuyck can drag you team to the playoffs on his own, and I think an elite goaltender may be the only thing keeping this team from another cup. I'm not too sure what the return would look like on a Hellebuyck to Penguins trade, but I didn't really want to trade any of the players we had signed so I just gave a bunch of picks. I really don't know if I overpaid, underpaid or neither on this deal so lmk your thoughts.

3. Lastly there's a good chance Granlund gets moved, and I think this would be most beneficial in order to make cap space for free agency signings. I gave Ty Smith because once some of the older LDs on this team start to fall off, Pittsburgh should be covered with Joseph and Pickering. Also have a third to make it worthwhile for Arizona, because 5mil is quite a lot to take up.

I signed Orlov to a massive deal to make this D line one of the best in the league and make Hellebuyck's job easier, then signed Toews and Bailey to cheap deals to round out the bottom 6.

Idrc if this is accurate or not, but this is a pretty darn good team. Flame me in the comments all you want idc

Hard pass on the dumo contract. 3@3.2?! No chance. Maybe like 1.5 or something, but even at that I wouldn’t give sully the opportunity to use him as a 1D again

Thanks for letting me know. I'm not a Pitt fan so just looking at the numbers this seemed fair to me. Not sure why I'm doing an armchair gm for teams I don't even know but oh well
