roster outlook

Initial Creation Date: Jul. 7, 2023

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I think at some point they move on from Gryz or forbort. Zboril needs to play or be moved and is cheaper than both the others so in a cap strapped year he stays and one of the others goes. especially if they intend to bring back Bergeron. I personally hope they take a flyer on Zadina for a middle 6 role.

I would be surprised if Brown beats out someone like Merkulov or Lysell for a roster spot, but there will probably be young guys cycling in and out.

I am very surprised that Grz hasn't been moved after how they benched him in the playoffs.

I have a feeling Merkulov will make the team. somewhere on 2nd/3rd line probably playing LW.

They wouldn't have the same role so it's possible. If they made the team, Merkulov/Lysell would be in the top9 while Brown would be on the 4th/13th F. I don't think Lysell starts in the NHL, but I could see Steen if he's given a fair chance.

I agree they wouldn't be in the same role, but it would push someone like Lauko or Frederic down to the 4th line which would then push Brown out of the lineup. Even if one of Merkulov or Lysell makes it out of camp, it is unlikely that Brown or Megna make the team unless Frederic gets moved.

If Bergeron retires, they don't add a center and Frederic remains on the wing, I could see Brown up. However, I'd rather Frederic at 4C and not have Brown on the NHL roster.

Yeah Brown can be in the roster along with Greer, but Merkulov, Lauko, and probably even McLaughlin would be better off in the lineup over them. I've seen enough of Greer's stupid penalties and terrible skating and Brown is barely above a replacement level player.

I think if Brown and Greer make the roster over any of them, Bruins fans can no longer blame the coaching staff for not playing the kids, it would have to be a front office decision at that point.

I'm ready for the 17-18 era, Felger roasting, "this roster is too young", highlight reel diss-track with Merkulov, Lohrei, Lysell and Lauko.
