    Before anyone asks, Draisaitl would be signed 5 years at $9,814,934 to avoid the 4x 1st round picks.

    Laugh at Edm as they struggle to ever ice a complete team because they have 22 mil tied up in 2 players

    I doubt EDM can match, especially if McDavid signs at 13.25m as reported by Friedman (if they did, they'd have to absolutely trade a player away & live in cap hell for the longest of times, hahaha). If we don't get Draisaitl, we go for Thornton. Offer him the 3 years he wants and a slightly bigger paycheck than he can get elsewhere, since he's still a beast of a player. Otherwise, there are other alternatives (Drouin or Galchenyuk) as center or acquire Hanzal via UFA (put him 2C and bump Reinhart up as our 1C)..

    Edmonton won't match, though they might ask for the Max and Shaw deal instead of the draft picks.
