Why would SJS take on 7 mil for a 4th? Would you take on 7mil in cap space for a 4th?

Brannstrom is a very solid player with a lot of upside. You would know that if you watched him skate through teams next year. Also you're not going to be able to get Lablanc off your books without retaining and/or adding a sweetner. He's just not good enough.

I'm not the one trying to get rid of Labanc. I understand no one wants him. I would just let him go at the end of his contract this year instead of taking on Joseph's contract. As for Brannstrom, I don't care. He can skate past an entire team, but at the end of the day if he ends a season with 2 goals and 18 points that skill doesn't add up to much. If he's so solid you keep him. And talking about sweeteners, where is the sweetener for taking on Joseph's horrible contract? Let me guess, he is solid too and doesn't need any sugar.

Joseph is a stright cap dump. Brannstrom is 23 and looks like a 3rd pariing D man living off his rep from 3 yrs ago.

He doesn't need much, he's still very young with a Stanley Cup ring to his name and is coming off a career worst year in shooting percentage. My guess is that the Sens will trade him to the Blackhawks similar to the Taylor Hall trade so that there is more insulation around Bedard. Possibly Joseph for a league min roster player with picks balancing either way. Also, if you look at Brannstrom's advanced stats and defensive stats he was the best defensemen on the Sens last season and one of the better ones in the league.
