As a Shorks fan, this deal is way too lopsided in our favor. With that said, this trade would be using up our last retention slot, so we would need a 2nd minimum to use up that last spot. Otherwise we would us that slot on a trade that got us a 2nd or 1st at the TDL.

I figure the retention will be on Hoffman or Labanc to try and squeeze value from one of them, hope is Duclair and Barabanov can pull a 2nd + at the TDL without retention. and yea this is not a Deal Boston makes

I just can't see Hoffman playing good enough to get a 3rd, let alone a 2nd. I don't think he will reach 40 points. Going by the fans on this site, no one wants Labanc, and very few will even give you a 4th for him half retained. Like Hoffman, I don't see Labanc putting up 40 points either. So I just don't see them as the best use for that last retention slot. I do however agree that Duclair and Barabanov could fetch a 2nd at the TDL market. I'm thinking that if both hit the 50-60 point mark, that they could fetch a late 1st from a contender at the TDL. Especially if one of them is half retained for a super cap strapped team that's going all in. I think those two are the most realistic players to have good years, and therefor be the best TDL chips to retain on.

Boston just getting ripped off in that deal.

Quinn should be feeding the puck to Hoffman on the PP trying to get him to 20 G by the deadline
