Description

With centerman options dwindling down to nothing, Bergevin is going to have to be creative at filling those spots. I think he'll have no choice but to do 2 things: re-try Galchenyuk in the role (he was doing extremely well as a C before his December injury derailed his season)... the other thing he'll look at is getting a center from the KHL. I've seen articles that Jan Kovar is an interesting talent in the KHL.

I have not heard of any KHL center coming to the NHL other than Dadonov and Shipachyev. Even if Bergevin has to give Galchenyuk another try it should not be for that length or salary. I'd give him about $3m per year for 2 or 3 yrs. You also moved Lehkonen from LW to RW. I wouldn't do that to a young player that has so much growing to do.

Galchenyuk has done as much as Drouin has done in this league. If Drouin can get 5.5, Galchenyuk can get 5. You just have to decide if it's going to be at LW or at C. Pacioretty's deal is coming up soon too. I'd rather pay Galchenyuk 5M than Pacioretty 7-8M he'll be asking for.
