I'd take the elite goaltender in Saros making Wall expendable.

Of course great logic, trade from a position of strength to sign an older, more expensive replacement in FA.

um Woll is projected, not GUARENTEED to be a starting goalie, and hasn't accomplished anything in the NHL, and hasn't played more than 15 games in an NHL season so on the logic comment you gotta look in the mirror. Oh and I haven't even mentioned Woll's injury issues.

Exactly he’s played 15 games and was a top 10 goalie statistically. Here I was thinking we’ve developed a #1 goalie but you’re projecting forward 2 years to trade him 🤦🏻; kind of nonsensical but you do you.
May as well trade Knies, Minten & Cowan while you are at it 🤦🏻🤦🏻

yes 15 games is a sample size of a season. if he's a top 10 goalie by your standards, you haven't watched a full NHL season. If Woll puts up say 2.80 gaa and .905% with first round exits the next two years, I'd think it would be time to move on from him, and go watch Saros play then get back to me when you have.

I don’t think he was a top 10 goalie; he was a top 10 goalie statistically - x goals saved per 60. Maybe you can’t see it but it’s beyond weird to trade an excellent young player two years in the future because you anticipate him regressing. Like I said, you should trade Knies & Minten & Cowan because you could use the same insane logic for them
