Bruins 2017

Created by: TopCornerShot
Team: 2017-18 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 12, 2017
Published: Jul. 12, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
L.A. could be a great team to ship Spooner to IMO. The door of communication needs to be reopened due to the firing of Lombardi, but these teams just did the Lucic deal not long ago.

They seem to be in win now mode, as they should be given their rosters demographics.

I think everything else has been stated in one of my other mocks, so this should be easy to follow along with.

Trades
BOS
  1. 2018 2nd round pick (LAK)
  2. 2019 4th round pick (LAK)
  3. 2020 6th round pick (LAK)
Additional Details:
The Bruins ask for futures in this deal for Spooner. Knowing L.A. is a likely playoff team next year and that the pick is probably going to be around the #50 hole, they ask for a secondary pick to supplement the value. A 4th rounder and 6th rounder tossed in makes the value of the #50 pick closer to a high 30's pick, which is where I deem Spooners value to be.

The Bruins are super happy with this deal because we've seem to hit well on guys like Carlo, Jfk, Lauzon, Lindgren and Donato. Pretty good NHL caliber chance for those guys.

The 4th round we've got some production out of Heinen and Gabrielle as far as progressing towards an NHL career. They seem to have a legit shot at making it still, which is rare for mid to late round picks.
LAK
  1. Spooner, Ryan
Additional Details:
L.A. Will have 5 of their 7 highest paid forwards be 30 years old or more by the time the season starts. That's quite a few graybeards to have at one time and it means their cup window is starting to close. Also contributing to that is the age of their #1 goalie (31 years old.) They've got a good 3 to 5 year run left and that's when Spooner is going to be an asset.

They have enough size on their team to accommodate Spooners lack of fight and toughness. He can raise their scoring and help propel them into the playoffs.

Well you know me!! Just not sold on JFK at 3rd C without him having any pro experience. Heinen has proved he can play pro and has played C before, can do it again. At least start the year in Providence for JFK.

Not sure Chara and McQuaid should be top 2 D?

Heinen has been primarily a winger since going professional. I don't see him as an option there.

He's played it before, just takes help from coaching. JFK has no pro experience, I fear that more!! Or put Backes at C and Heinen at RW, just send JFK to Providence!!
