Description

Sign Hanifin long term to like 7x7 ideally

If things go well with tanev give him a one year extension as a stop gap until Sandi-Pellika is ready

Let Ghost walk this summer and replace him with either Edvinsson or Johannson next year

Extend Kane to 2 x 5-6 or something in that range

Extend Sprong 3 x 3-4

Let Perron walk this summer & replace him with one of Soderblom, Mazur, Kasper, Danielson

Extend Ras, Veleno, Fischer which should all be relatively cheap

Extend Seider 8x8.7 and Raymond 5x7

Flames get 2 nhl capable defenceman who can help stabalize things through a rebuil/retool, Berggren can come up and help if they move some forwards out and potentially 2 first round picks for hanifin assuming he signs long term and tanev as a rental seems fair

Absolutely 0 chance the Flames accept that deal.

You have Calgary taking back almost 10m in salary beyond this year, there is zero compensation for this, and really the only decently enticing piece is the first, and we wouldn't even be getting it this year.

i feel like hanifin will be between 7-8 at the most and im just hoping that yzerman sets his internal cap that nobody makes more than larkin does

You're not taking back anywhere near 10m in salary past this year, Maatta 3.0m and Holl 3.4m and Berggren won't get anymore then $900,000 sorry that's only slightly more than 7.3m if even that. You're trading far more in cap with both Hanifin and Tanev than you're taking back.

FYI Holls salary and cap hit are identical 3.4m so yes it's one in the same. So Maatta has 1x3.0 and Holl 2x3.4 which equals 6.4m somehow i don't think that's going to break you.

It's not about breaking anything. It's that teams don't eat contracts for mediocre to poor players without compensation. Monahan didn't break the Habs, but they still got a 1st round pick to take him and that was just to take about 6.5m and he was a much better player than Maatta or Holl. This offer was bad without us eating 10m in future contracts for players we don't want.
