Dubas gets two plug and play prospects for the Pens and two players who can play now and have term. Steeves tops out as a complimentary top six winger much like Rust or a middle six guy who is solid across the board and has a plus shot from distance. Ellis is a 4th line PITA type who will draw his share of penalties, flash occasional offense, and will be an asset on the PK. Timmins is currently sidelined with mono but brings a solid transition toolkit to the blueline that is younger than the ones they currently possess. Kampf brings his own PK skill set but is in here to balance the salaries.

Without a doubt, the guts of this deal revolves around Steeves and Timmins.

The Leafs fortify their bottom six further but give up two solid pieces of their present to do so. Resigning Guentzel would seem to be a priority here.
