Good with the Crosby trade. Not good with the Guentzel trade.

Is it too much of a return for Guentzel? Or too little?

I don't think they would trade Guentzel to an in division rival without an overpayment. I think they would have to be a clear best offer.

Just a formality, they don't want a San Jose Sharks 2020 situation happening again.

Rangers don't even consider that trade offer.

any rangers trade is going to have to include Othmann.

As for the Crosby trade, keep dreaming.

You didn't send anything over that will sell tickets. Period.
That's where the conversation ends. What they will never accept is a protected pick. Even if it's virtually impossible for a team with Crosby and Mac to finish bottom 5

Right, because being not good enough for the playoffs for the next 2-4 years and subsequently having a miserable 5-8 year rebuild after that will sell sooo many tickets...in Houston.

I hate to break it to you but if Crosby signs another 4 year deal that's 5 years of ticket sales. No matter what you really think, it's 5 years of ticket sales, and that's a lot of money.
Not to mention merchandise, etc.....

So you can go on all day, but it's a business. Money coming in matters.

That just delays the inevitable, there will be a long and potentially disastrous rebuild as soon as Crosby retires or leaves the team. If you trade him on your own terms you can expedite the rebuild.

no one cares about delaying the "inevitable.... they care about making money.
There is no possible return for Crosby that is going to make the penguins competitive. A bunch of late round draft picks aren't brining in the caliber of players one needs to compete.
Hell you got teams like CBJ picking top 5 year after year, OTT picking top of the draft year after year.... and even they aren't competitive yet.

The rebuild is coming no matter what they do, but as long as Crosby is here, they make money.
You offer nothing to change that, so why the hell would they ever do it. They wouldn't.
