****ting on Dubas for that Guentzel return shows some of y’all don’t have that hockey business in you.
PITT was already going to continue to suck to enter that top 10 range and have that 1st rounder. They added another 2nd on top of that and it could become a 1st rounder.

1ST ( ALREADY HAD ) 2ND ( COULD BECOME A 1ST) PONOMAREV KOIVUNEN LUCIUS. THEY NEEDED QUANTITY. GOOD MOVE BRUH.

Losing Guentzel helped them tremendously to suck and enter the top 10.

Eiserman Ponomarev Koivunen Lucius and Conditonal 2nd is the return. Excellent move. It’s better than Nadeau and a 4th.. Got younger and did a retool with one trade. Haters are going to hate.

Got younger added talent and go spend in FA to help Crosby. It’s simple. Keeping Guentzel wouldn’t change anything. They would of continued to suck like this year.

lol isn’t the point of the rebuild to intentionally take a step back in on ice success today in the hopes of bigger success in the future

Sure if he was actually trying to rebuild he's trying to stay in the mushy middle which just will not work.

Pens do not have the choice. We have to wait another year before we can truly tank. Everyone and their mom has a NMC and we don’t have draft picks. Dubas didn’t do that. That’s the situation he walked into.

Attempting to make playoffs next year is the only decent option because we won’t reap rewards from those draft picks anyway. Same this year. Same last year.

This is hextalls mess. All dubas has done is trade our worst players for Erik Karlsson and double our prospect pool for 20 games of Jake guentzel (who we might sign in the offseason considering Carolina’s cap situation!)

And yet in that one trade he got us out from under our three worst contracts and brought in a guy who is now probably the second best player on the team. Karlsson is having one of the best offensive season by anyone on the pens in the Crosby era, it’s only disappointing by Karlsson standards.

You think the penguins would be in a better situation right now with a massive Jeff Petry contract instead of a Karlsson contract? I’ll pay a first to get out from all of that and get Erik freaking Karlsson any day.

You frankly don’t understand the penguins perspective at all.

There’s more beneath the surface here.

You really think FSG and a brand new GM can just come in here and instantly tear it all apart? What does that look like to the fans?? What does that look like to Sidney Crosby???!!

If dubas didn’t even TRY to kick the tires on one last push for playoffs, it could spell disaster for FSGs entire ownership and billion dollar investment.

You don’t buy a team to turn yourself into the villain on day 1!

The Karlsson trade is about respect to the core and to the fans. It’s about being beyond a shadow of a doubt that the tank is empty before rebuilding. When you have a top 5 talent of all time, you treat that with respect. 🫡
