Flyers 24-25 with Lundell

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Aight take two. Are we anywhere close value wise? Was also thinking about OS of $4,290,000, compensation would only be 2nd round pick. But don't think young GM Briere does that.

I know Panthers most likely won't be trading Lundell (and he's the most valuable piece in this trade proposal), but he's kind of a player Flyers should be targeting, young C with more offensive upside. For Panthers they get bit of cap relief with 2 solid roster players cheaper together (or at least close to the same cost) than what Lundell will likely cost. They can either use the 1st themselves or flip it for some other roster improvement. Zamula could replace OEL unless OEL is taking huge discount for his next deal.

Panthers cap situation is kinda bad, they have currently 7FWD, 3D (4 if you count Björnfot, no idea how he's been doing) and 2G (counting Knight in, burying him doesn't bring cap relief, because you're most likely using that 1,15M saved for backup goalie) under contract and have ~21M cap space left and keeping Reinhart will take like 9M. Add Lundell with 3-4M and it's 8-9M left to sign 5-6FWD and 3-4D. Not saying it wouldn't be possible but in current roster only Lomberg and Mahura (and Lundell) are currently making under 1M.

25-26 Flyers will have tons of cap space to sign RFA players and TK + Hathaway/his replacement.

Not sure about Fedotovs contract, that was just the cap hit of his previous contract which never happen.

Bought out Atkinson to save ownership some money if that matter anything, no need to pay anyone to take him. Kinda same with Johansen, just don't reward him with buyout, he was good to play for Avs, but after the trade he suddenly can't play so just bury him to AHL or land to LTIR if he's having some itches and can't play.

Additional Details:
Can be one of Cates, Brink or Laughton. Zamula is solid 3rd pair D with big frame and upside for 2nd pair. Also been big reason why Flyers are competing even after Walker trade and injuries with Drysdale, Seeler and Ristolainen. First can be either -24 FLA 1st or -25 COL first.

PHI
  1. 2025 2nd round pick (CBJ)
CBJ
  1. 2024 2nd round pick (CBJ)

I could get behind something like this but would try hard to make Laughton the returning piece. My order of preference is: Laughts, Cates, Brink.

Personally would also prefer Laughton, but I don't know if that would make it, agree with that order above.

retaining on laughton would make it much more desirable. i wouldn't move cates or brink unless its necessary. brink has middle 6 playmaker ability and cates is a top 15 defensive forward in hockey, just playing the wrong position - move him to 3LW and he'd be incredible on a line with couturier and foerster in the future

Retaining Laughton is also option, though we are already retaining on Hayes as well for 2 more seasons. Ofc it's not hurting cap wise and the retention would be off the boards when Michkov arrives and this team should start competing more seriously.

yep. any cap 'malpractice' (not a great word for this context but idc) is perfectly fine until 26-27. michkov's rookie year needs to be the 1st year of 'advanced' playoff contention given he'll be on his elc as a top line winger
