Can't see Philly giving up Forester, Its a good offer but I think they are high on Forester.

The Roy trade would most likely be cool with the Habs but this is a deep draft in the lottery and if a team were to move out of it, its probably a poor decision.

I don't think Philly moves him either, but just a fun mock trade.

Not sure I follow anything with your second point. What do the Habs have to do with anything?

Philly wouldn't do that, Lambos hasn't progressed great, I can't imagine anyone in Philly's FO could be high on Khusnutdinov after watching him religously all year, and 20th OA just doesn't make the trade worth it for a guy who has been extremely promising this season.

Funny enough: I could see Philly be willing to make a similar swap with Laughton and the Florida pick with Minnesota, but they'd almost certainly have to add another piece into the mix

Ya I wouldn't do it as Philly and didn't really expect a positive reception to that one, but wanted to see if from MNs side.

Lambos and Khus could be re-worked, but if Forester is basically off the table, then there's probably not an overlap to be found.

Read that totally wrong, was thinking Roy from the Habs not Roy from the Knights.

Do you view this as a no-brainer from VGKs perspective (i.e. they'd possibly add a small piece as well) or pretty close (i.e. fine as it is, but not willing to add more)?

I'm not asking to try and "win" a fake trade, just curious where on the accept/reject spectrum this falls.

Quite sure there would have to be Rossi as the main piece from Wild, not VGK first, if Flyers were about to trade Foerster. And then some picks from both to balance it, Flyers adding. And I think trading Rossi doesn't make sense for Wild.

Don't know about that Roy trade... If Minnesota wants to break out of the eternal curse of the mid, it doesn't make sense. It just makes the Wild even more mid. What we have here is the Wild trading their already mid pick for a even more mid pick. In return, they get a mid player on a mid contract that fills out a role in the middle of their lineup. A role that Khusnutdinov or some other promising young talent could pursue.

Lol yes the entire fate of the franchise hangs in the balance of a 7 spot swing in the middle of the draft....picking 13 and overpromoting a prospect is surely gonna turn it all around!

Roy is a pretty solid player - he's big, difficult to play against, has term at a fair number and shows up playoffs. Khusnutdinov clearly isn't NHL ready and could probably do with close to a full year in Iowa. Gaudreau is awful, so I don't need to see him as a 3C anymore. No other prospects are really ready for 3C duties.

Look how effective Paul has been for Tampa for an idea on what the upside here is.

At the end of the day, I'd probably prefer to keep the pick. But I don't think something like this automatically perpetuates mediocrity anymore than the alternative does.

no-brainer especially with the high draft pick, this is all dependent if the team is trying to re-sign marchessault, otherwise roy stays in since he's been one of our more consistent depth pieces
