The penguins as an organization is still to sheltered. Every other organization in the league is playing their youth.
I don't think this team can win a damn thing if the paths to fixing issues is just FA.
They are going to have to gamble on their younger players. Talent wise Pickering might be the best available LD on the team to fill that 3LD role.
The same might be said about Yager in the forwards.

As for Nieto, is he coming back or is he a perm LTIR. It was 6-8 weeks knee surgery, he's been out 15 weeks.
