Carolina has a ton of free agents to re-sign, I think they would rather sign Jarvis to a long term deal than sign Necas to a long term deal
I don't think Marner would waive his No move clause, but if he did, it would be for a team that is contending.
Not sure about the pick, if there is a extension in place for Marner, I think the leafs get more in draft capital.

Might need to retain a bit of the contract if Carolina isn't willing to pay the money (I dont think retention would go over 1.5 million)
