      I find it funny that Bunting magically makes it there. I mean really what are you trading out to get him with those signing on the left?

      Dubas traded Guentzel to get Bunting, that is why Bunting appears on the trade V. trade match up.

      Though if Dubas stayed as Leaf GM he would have signed him on July 1st.

      you don't know that. He had the cap space in PIT to try to sign him and he didn't instead he paid 5 mil to Smith which cost him a draft pick.
      It's a large assumption you are working with there.

      Dubas traded for Smith before July 1st.

      But actively asked for Bunting in the trade with Carolina.

      So... probably best to leave Bunting off this thread, considering Dubas was in seller mode with that move, something he'll never get to do with the Leafs.
