Detroit's not giving a 3rd and 4th to dump Holl lol.

They'll either retain him at half as a giveaway, or if Yzerman really values the extra $600K cap he'd get over retaining, buy him out.

to open a spot for kasper and let the pens worry about his extension. Smith can fill a top 9 role and you move up in the draft. that was my thought process on it

Fabbri is not as bad as people think and neither is the cap hit but thats my thought on it

Wouldn’t expect Kasper on the team to start next year, and even when he is he’ll likely start as a winger.

I don't really see the point in the pens trade for either team.
Pens can move Smith out for a pick, or just keep him his play isn't nearly as bad as people want to say.
Penguins are in a good spot, they have the luxury of cap space for once. So moving smith isn't such a priority.
So I don't think they would give up futures to do so.

Like the title says "im just here to have fun" this wasnt my overall thought on how the team will actually look
