Description
So just some thoughts… I don’t know what the right ask is for Marner.. there is the theory out there that the Leafs may have to be willing to lose the trade if they have to… so this trade may be that..
TRADES

Marner - Konecny, Florida 1st and Philly 3rd
Tavares /Robertson - Hill and Toronto retaining 50% for JTs salary
Liligren - to Seattle along with a 3rd for Tanev
Kampf- Kampf and a 5th to San Jose for a 4th

UFA - resign Domi and Edmunston
Montour - 5yrs / 6.25 million
C Tanev - 2yrs / 3.0 million
Domi - 4yrs / 4.25 million
Edmunston - 3yrs / 3.25 million
Stevenson - 4yrs / 4.25 million

RFA

Dewar - 2 yrs / 900

These are all just some thoughts and by no means the right answers to get the Leafs over the top.

I agree with your thought process to move out those pieces. I'm skeptical of the cap hit of a few of those pieces coming back. Tanev, Montour, and Edmundson

Totally agree with your assessment…. The money they are going to make is totally unknown… my thoughts on the three are this
If the Tanevs had a chance to play together, would Chris take a bit of a cut, he will be 35 along with that..
I’m almost doubling Montours salary.. if Timmons could be moved out you could free up another million, so that’s an option..
my only thought for Edmunston was he would take a small salary hit to be a part of this moving forward… if not, there are other options out there to look at..

So that was my thought process…

It can be any pick… I don’t care if it’s a 7th… you have to start somewhere… every trade has a starting point..
