Why, exactly, would Vegas do that?

They're already a playoff team, they don't need any regular season points from Marner to help them get there. And he clearly is pretty useless in the playoffs.

That is the conundrum TOR finds itself in with Marner and his NMC.

Marner will want to go to a playoff team, but a playoff team doesn't need/want Marner.

Marner will have to waive his NMC to a non-playoff team and then hope that either, that non-playoff team makes the jump to the playoffs with him, or they trade him at the TDL.

It’s Vegas they love big names. Unlikely for sure but certainly wouldn’t shock me.

Why? Because its a bloody handout and Vegas loves bloody handouts. Marner AND a 1st for Hill and Theodore? A guy I've heard Vegas fans declare 'expendable' after the Hanifin trade?

Theodore + Hill >>>>>> Marner
