Giordano is the oldest player in the NHL this year.
Not only is he 40 years young, he's also playing a very taxing position.
Giordano is uber competitive. He works his tail off in the defensive zone. He's more than willing to get in shooting lanes and block shots.
Where things start to break down is around the 25-30 second mark of his shifts / especially in the defensive zone when stops / starts becoming exhausting in small area defending.
He's being asked to play a top four role with the Leafs defense suffering through injuries.
Monitor his ability to make responsible puck plays, pick his spots to join offensively, and contain in the defensive zone coming off the boards.
Through ten games Giordano is averaging 17:34 TOI ... BUT ... his last three games have seen his ice time spike (20:29 - 20:44 - 21:34)
He's being asked to play hard minutes at ES and PK / match up against middle six opponents at ES.
