The logical thing to do

Cheap salary with high cap hit. If they want a guy like Emelin, they can get one on the free agent market and pay 4 times less.</i></div></div>
4 millions isnt that cheap and it equals paying emelin for Savard but emelin is playing so it didnt affect their cap hit.
Honnestly, i am thinking for the devils D-man solution about 3 weeks now and my first was : yohan autivu (but hell need a ahl season) Second : Russel.. but devils are not ahead in that race ... sadly Third : Gryba, cheap physical and right handed.. but emelin is better and their like almost not paying him. Best trade possible for the devils</i></div></div>
Sorry bud I don't think you understand.
Emelin is being paid 4.2 and 4.4M a season for the next 2 seasons but his cap hit is 4.1M
Savard is being paid 575K for onyl this next season but his cap hit is 4M. The thing is his contract is insurable so NJ only pays like 15% to Savard, the insurance company pays the rest. PLUS Savard goes on LTIR so if the Devils needed the cap space (they dont) that 4M wouldn't count against their cap.
Emelin is an ok dman but no way NJ gifts us Savard's contract for 2 more years of Emelin. Gryba or someone else could replace Emelin at much less cost.</i></div></div>
The cap hit is counting other wise, injured player won't be a problem for a team, go see any teams with the players on injured reserved cap hit are counting. Plus go on the site, click cba and click after on LITR, it explained clearly the cap situation

I totally know that. The cap hit is still counting when a player is on Long term injury reserve and Savard is counting for 4.02 millions, but the team is only paying 575 m and the assurance the rest, well like you explain real well tho, so at the finals emelin is only 200 000$ more on the cap hit
Devils have the money to pay emelin btw
I understand your point but I was talking on the cap hit situation of both teams

It's actually a gag for the draft picks. Still, ur a funny *******.

Granlund to MTL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaptainFlynnt</b></div><div><i>There's good odds that Condon will be available on waivers at some point in the season, so Minnesota could just claim him if they wanted to. I can't see montreal keeping 3 goalies until the trade deadline. Desharnais will definitely be an option in any trade where we need to send salary back but he doesn't hold any value. So basically Minnesota would be trading Granlund and a 7th for a 3rd and a conditional 2nd. Not a very good trade for them.</i></div></div>
Condon has a two way contract who dont need to waive him to send him to the ahl. So he wont be put on waivers

Granlund to MTL

It's more a salary dump because next season they'll have some RFA, but not enough money for. Desharnais will be gone at the end of the season, Condon add some depth in the goals and Erikson-Ek has his chance to get a roster spot next year. Honnestly, it is just an idea and we all know t wont happen. I think the trade is fair but it all depends on the season of both teams.

Fair trade ?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wabit</b></div><div><i>Really not a good trade from Wild perspective. DD+ Condon don't make the Wild any better than keeping Granlund.
After this season it breaks down to Granlund rights (RFA) + 7th for a 3rd. DD and Condon are basically rentals.</i></div></div><div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wabit</b></div><div><i>Really not a good trade from Wild perspective. i was thinking about that trade as a trade dead line deal if they are only fighting for a wild card spot but you're right on the fact that it didnt improve the wild at the beginning of the season !

Well mr born to be GM, you really are lacking in the powers of observation, as Clarkson was hurt, is hurt, and will always be hurt. When the wind blows, he hurts. All he is good for is collecting a big fat paycheck. I guarantee you he will not make it through training camp without some injury, illness, or his monthly cramps./quote]
Still you can't put it on LTIR... i know that clarkson just want the money but you still cant do this and it is not against you, im only trying to explain to you that it has to be a big injury to be on the Long term injury list</i></div></div></i></div></div>
