They can trade Ladd for 2019-2020 and Clutterbuck for 2020-2021.
The return Montreal gets here is not very important.
The basis of that was also to look how Price would fit if Bergevin didnt give him a 10.5mil contract before his UFAs year. Price would like get around 9mil

As for that trade? My god, you want MTL to give you their 2 best players for scraps. Bloody stop this</div></div>
Of course Montreal will receive more, probably Bellows and +.
I was just trying to make it work for the Islanders.

Tampa Bay all in
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>nashless</b></div><div>Well I listen to mtl690 everyday, and they sure don't like their Petry. They've been waiting for him to show up since they got him. Sure he teases every once in a while. although he's been fairly consistent since Weber injury, that's a big term. Coburn is 2 years, not like JP 4x5.5m</div></div>
Every dmen not named Markov, Subban, Weber have not look good in Montreal. Price has saved a lot of bad games ny the team, but its not happening this year and the team sucks. Strangely enough, Petry is having a career year. I would be surprised if Petry gets 35 to 45 points playing in Tampa Bay.
The Lightings could always send the same packaged to Arizona for OEL.

Tampa Bay all in
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>nashless</b></div><div>Uhhh, Petry is pretty much a cap dump...</div></div>
Coburn is a cap dump.
The picks will be 26th+ and 56th+ so its not that bad for Tampa.
Still not sure what kind of dmen Cal Foote will turn into, will he be a top4 dmen?
Katchouk is where Montreal could luck out.
Petry has been playing very good hockey offensively. The problem with Petry is that he is inconsistent, but hasn't been the case in a a few months.
He would play on the 2nd pairing with Dotchin, 2nd PP unit and 2nd PK unit.
Petry becomes a bettet player with a much much better offense, same thing with Pacioretty.
With this trade Tampa Bay becomes the #1 favorite.

Rebuild is ON
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BeterChiarelli</b></div><div>Montreal doesn't <em>need</em> a rebuild right now. If you guys miss out on Tavares, you can go after a combo of players (like Stastny and Perron). Move Plekanec this year for a decent return, MAYBE move Galchenyuk and Pacioretty for a few NHL-ready kids if the drama is causing an effect in the locker room, and take advantage of a rested Price next season. Keep your picks instead of moving them for rentals, and you'll be fine for another 3-4 years.
Getting a kid like Quinton Hughes at this year's draft gives you some solid defense stability in a few years, even with an aging Weber.</div></div>
Montreal most definitely needs a rebuild, make it a 3 years at least rebuild.
Price needs to go
Pacioretty needs to go
Weber needs to go
Shaw needs to go
Petry needs to go
Alzner needs to go
Byron needs to go
This team is not competing for quite some time.
Tear this joke of an organization from top to bottom.

Montreal overhaul
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>zenyatta</b></div><div>Yeah I agree with Frost but Weise is a 4th liner overpaid, Lethera is a 3th liner overpaid and Elliot is not a number one event if we have dept at Goalie. If you give me Frost, Ratcliffe & a 1st for Pacioretty, then I'd said it's a good one. But we need way more if Price is in the deal</div></div>
With the cap going and the amount of cap space we have, 2,35mil for Dale Weise who loves playing in Montreal is good for the team. Deslauriers-rookie C-Weise would be a solid 4th line.
Montreal eats Lehtera cap hit for 1 more season but the Habs have the cap space. He might also have a good season and bring assests at the 2019 deadline.
Have Lindgren backup Elliot.
I think its a decent return considering Price awful contract kicking in next year. Just brutally stupid by Bergevin to sign him 1 year before he had to.

I garantee you the way we have been doing things the last 25 years is not going to work. This organization needs a complete change from top to bottom. We need to draft as low and as often as possible for a while.

This team is terrible. 26th overall, our AHL team is 27th, we dont have talented prospects coming up, Bergevin as destroyed this team and we need a 3 years rebuild. Pacioretty isnt a rental, he's got 2 years retained and might resign with Florida.

Montreal sellers at the deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy739</b></div><div>you lost me at the WSH trade , they need cap relief and give up nothing so we can pick up a trash player who's 37 and in worse playing condition them Markov in the KHL at 38 .
Bitten and Pazetta are both better then Pilon and in the AHL next year with most likely Nattinen who is a career Faceoff Center Internationally for FIN given MTL is desperate for one and he's in his third consistent year of point production proving he's more then just a defensive center we got 3/5 top Center prospects that will push this small forward out
Bitten is Gallagher 2.0 but able to take Faceoffs and skate more Fluidly so i doubt it takes him long as CJ loves those players .
Poehling says 1 more year NCAA and he feels he'll be read to crack the NHL .
the rest i actually like all around pretty much . dont like Gaborik's contract and Vlardi like Marner has skating issues and needs another 1-2 years minimum in junior thats if like Marner he hires a speed skating coach to improve if not he'll be like Mccarron and just float as the 5th 1st round bust under Larry Carriere . that being said Clague is a good piece and those are good picks so its worth the gamble and the atrocious contract they gave Gabby .
i need a bit to ponder the rank but i'd say 3/5 or 4/5 but 15.05m in cap dump contracts with 2-4 years left as Price is due for a 4m cap boost is a lot to chew
it just leaves our team in hell giving away good players for nothing when we have to buy them out</div></div>
Montreal need to tank and rebuild for at least 3 years.
Its starts by trading players , with low terms, low salary and by production. Everyone turning UFA within the next 2 years have to go. Montreal need to maximize the return by taking cap dumps, which they do by taking Gaborik to bury him in the minor next year, Lehtera might have a bit of a bounce back season next year to give him some value at the deadline. I would trade Weber in the summer to cut salary and acquire assests, so Orpik would be our stay at home and PK guy. Lehtera and Orpik are only with the team until 2019.
You mentionned not liking the Washington trade, what would you do?
