they still cant sign gusev even for a league minimum
If he were to take league minimum, flop Whitecloud for Bischoff.
Also, they will probably bury Holden too. So that will free up a little more. Even if you were to add Whitecloud (or Schuldt back in)

Gusev Done Deal
Trade Reaves, you have $3MM, you have room for three minimum-salary players, two of whom should be Brandon Pirri and Zack Whitecloud.

Gusev Done Deal
Why trade Carrier? He is on a league minimum deal. You still need two more roster players, so you are actually about a million over the cap (based on 2 min contracts).

Fantastic job on this team! Trading Holden to MTL is a realy nice idea. I was wondering can you also check out my thread titled "A question" and leave your opinion? Thanks!

Pionk deal confirmed
It seems high for Pionk, but it looks like crazy $$ is being thrown at young defenseman, especially right shot ones. The Trouba deal is crazy in my opinion....I thought he looked very suspicious the last 2 playoff series losses, like teams figured out that if you apply great pressure to him he'll cough up the puck, which he did in volumes against Vegas and the Blues. When the blues were forechecking, Buff was carrying the puck out to some success, while other D were beating the press with decent outlet passing. Trouba didn't seems to be able to to either. I'd love to see the clips of all the turnovers from those 2 series Trouba had. My suspicion is Trouba will not be very well regarded in NY and will crumble under both big city pressure and actual hockey pressure.

Trades with VGK COL and WIN - Best use of cap space
Why does Vegas have to get rid of LTIR Clarkson. Just so the Habs can put him on LTIR:shakehead. Jets are about cap compliant without trading Kulivov...certainly they don't need minors leaguers returned in any trade.

Take out the first and Vegas might consider it. Clarkson is not an issue for them the other 2 can simply be moved for late picks. Not giving a 1st for garbage..

Dont explain sane logic to ppl here....it has to be overpayment at 4 x 12M or signed Offer-sheet and hes gone......theres no other option in TML land.....

Lucic and Gusev Trades
Alot of people trading for Gusev + another player. That’s not Vegas problem really. They just need to trade either Reaves/Holden or Gusev. Trading Gusev + Eakin doesnt make any sense for a team that has no cash problems and want to challange for the cup.
Take either Gusev or Eakin out pf the equation or give us something back that would still make Vegas competitors.

IMO a 2nd rdr and a C+ Prospect is fair.</div></div>
That's not even close to fair lol. Gusev is the best player in the world that isn't in the NHL. If a team wants him, GMGM and Kelly probably want a 1st rounder and an "A level" prospect.

The cap will be even higher 4 years from now than 3 years now. Marner can get significantly more money as a UFA than as a RFA.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tony135420</b></div><div>This is why I chose 3 years. I'm still a firm believer that Marner has no intention of leaving Toronto. He just wants to ride out the next couple of years until the cap gets to a point where he can make what he thinks he is worth. If I'm Dubas, I try and sign him to a 3 year deal that is signing bonus driven, gauge his camps interest in signing an extension in summer of year 2 and make your decision of whether to resign or move on based on Marner's ask. If he tears it up for the next couple of years, pay the man and move another piece to make room. To me that is how Dubas can make this a win-win.</div></div>
Agreed. I think they will settle on a bridge as well, his ask is too much long term. Bridge him and if they can win a cup or two then open up the bank vault

That isnt lowballing him. Worst case would be signing him to four years. Do you know anything about about the difference between a ufa and an rfa?
