Oh yeah for sure. I think we ought to just settle for someone like a TVR, and try to fit him into a scary cap situation. Either that or just go in with the team that we have.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jamiepo</b></div><div>I’m doing up a couple of agm’s to show how impossible it is for Tampa to add anything but a rental. Trouba and karlsson would both be great rentals but would cost Tampa too much as the sens and jets could turn to teams like Dallas and jersey where these players are more valuable as long term assets.</div></div>
I do think it's possible to fit one more contract but you would have to probably let at least Stralman and one of the forwards go.

This. I do like the trade for both sides, but I also do believe Tampa Bay has reservations about giving up Callan Foote unless Jacob Trouba decides to sign.

No, 3.6 M in space, 2.5 cap increase, Coburn and Girardi both walk, thats 12.8 mill for next yr. 2 mill towards McDonagh raise, 4.8 to Kuch raise, 5 mill towards Point raise, move out Johnson, theres your money. There are plenty of other problems with this trade but the cap is not one of them.

This might be insane, but YzerGod planned this
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mike5889</b></div><div>3,4 million is actually quite reasonable for the purpose of signing 3 players. It has become more and more common for teams to play 11 forwards with 7 d-men. 1,5 million for a 4C and league minimum for either a 4LW or 4 RW still leaves just over a million for a 7D, which is very doable.
I would think that if another expansion draft happens, Yzerman would sacrifice picks and/or prospects in order to keep Miller or alternatively trade Miller out for another player that is ineligible in the expansion draft. Unless a player matching to Miller's skillset is available in free agency I don't see Yzerman losing Miller for nothing, not while his team is still one of the top contenders in the league.</div></div>
He doesn't have to sacrifice picks to protect Miller.
Stamkos
Kucherov
Miller
Point
Palat
Cirelli
Killorn
McDonagh
Sergachev
Hedman
Vasy
Raddysh not eligible, Volkov not eligible, Katchouk not eligible, Joseph not eligible, Foote not eligible, Cernak not eligible.
Basically the only roster players actually available would be Adam Erne and Slater Koekkoek. If the Seattle expansion team wants to pick Slater Koekkoek, then Yzerman can give up a pick to protect him. Either that or promote Sosunov.

I think that Vasilevski should not get that much money you gave him. I would expect 7-7.5 a million more than Gibson if he stays this good.. also you forgot the expansion draft, where Seattle likely takes JT Miller. Cap space would be there and Tampa is going to be hell of a team!</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ragsandbluesfan</b></div><div>gourde is only being paid 1 mil rn, even if its for a year you need cap</div></div>
Gourde's raise is going to make his contract equivalent to Tanev imo. RHD >>>>> winger.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TBLight70</b></div><div>Moving forward, I do like this deal. Yes, Gourde is player who is more desirable to keep for the long run, than a Johnson, but his breakout season could be a bust. He can be the next Marchessault or Conacher for all I know. I'm not saying he is a bust, just that his value is high at this moment, as you say. We really need a right handed defensemen, Stralman is the only reliable man. Sergachev will undoubtedly play the right side but I don't think Cooper is keen on doing this. Karlsson would create a super team, but with his cap figure by next year, we would be in cap hell. My eyes are on Parayko, Pietrangelo will want a big contract when he is up, which is why I think Parayko would be the odd man out. He would fit in perfectly, Tanev is also a great pickup, but my thoughts are Parayko would be much better.</div></div>
I would agree but Parayko is so costly...
