Pietrangelo or parayko
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>STLBlues17</b></div><div>Parayko took Pietrangelo’s roll which was to eat minutes against top-competition with a bad partner whereas Pietrangelo got a lot easier minutes with better partners like Dunn and Gunnarsson. I think this roll-switch was a huge part of the cup win because it optimized their skill sets. Parayko is a lot better than Pietrangelo at playing against top competition and Pietrangelo was absolutely dominant when he got to play against easier opponents. In the end I think it all comes down to what you value and how you utilize them.</div></div>
The funny part of this is that you can expect Pietrangelo to put up more points and put himself in talks for the Norris again, proving that NHL awards are altogether stupid, points are mostly just noise, and Parayko is the GOAT.

Kase being the top of that list.
Barrie, coots, and Klinger are not underrated

Miro Heiskanen may be underrated based off of some people on this site. And imo Juuse Saros is underrated, he's an amazingly talented goalie

How to make the playoffs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BrandonMcD11</b></div><div>So long as this team has Koskinen in net, I'm willing to bet they do not make the playoffs. Next 3 years. He is NOT playoff caliber goalie.</div></div>
Kind of a funny claim to make categorically. Koskinen had a much better save percentage than Martin Jones did last year and he made the playoffs. Koski also had a winning record on a team with a losing record... his all strengths GSAA was +7.66. I would say he's not the #1 factor inhibiting a playoff date.

Few things here, Chiasson plays over Kassian and Archibald.
the value for McDavid is off. You can easily get a better package elsewhere. You could get more picks and more solidified NHL guys with TERM. You didn't go after any term in exchange for a guy locked up next 6 years.
So long as this team has Koskinen in net, I'm willing to bet they do not make the playoffs. Next 3 years. He is NOT playoff caliber goalie.

Biggest question is whether Carter would accept a trade to EDM.
Rumour is he would just retire if traded to another team.
P.S. I think you give up a bit too much in that deal as well.

The only Dumba trade that makes any sense for the Wild
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Docdave</b></div><div>Big ask for an injury prone dman who isn't even number 1 on his own team ...both spurgeon n suter play more ...ain't happening ...a 50 goal guy with an awesome contract gets more than that ...see all the laine trades on here and he's a 30 goal guy</div></div>
Suter is a LHD, so what he plays isn't relevant to Dumba. Spurgeon playing more isn't a slight on Dumba, Spurgeon is just an all around better defenseman. Don't get the "injury prone" comment, but sure. He wouldn't be traded cheap, I never said the price was fair. I said that's what they're going to want, which isn't really important because they're just not going to trade him for the next 3 years at least. Maybe they trade him when he's due for an extension if he's asking too much.
Edit: Most of the Laine trades on here are stupid, so not sure what you mean by look at what people are saying for him. They're knee-jerk reaction trades to an RFA trying to get what he feels he's worth and people act like this is something weird. Same deal with Marner.

Would cbj do it
I think Edmonton loses big time, Draisaitl has already shown he cannot drive a line on his own at an elite level. He is essentially a winger for life unless he can figure it out, which at this point I'm doubtful. So you'd end up with Dubois and Nuge as your top 2 and will both are/will be good they are not the top offence driver in the NHL. The defence gets a clear upgrade, however this trade is a quality for quantity trade and they almost never work out for the quantity side. All three players on the CBJ side are good/great but are all far more replaceable than McJesus and EDM is finally moving in the right direction in drafting and developing players and will get the help he needs soon

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Viqsi</b></div><div>Well, we <strong>did</strong> just get one of the nicer wingers on the market at a pretty fair deal already - and free agency isn't exactly the best way to go shopping for core stars in any case, so that element doesn't really amount to much. It still leaves us with a huge question mark at #2C this year, and opens up a giant-size hole on RD.</div></div>
Yeah nyquist with dubois probily not making it over 60 points, nyquist with mcdavid probily hitting over 70. You gotta give something to get something, i had mentioned in a comment higher EDM would probily have to add a RD benning or a younger player to help with the blow to the defence but you're getting arguably the best player in the game. You might be able to land more than just a nice player from FA with him as well.
Not like i'm the gm of CBJ but this would be time for a makeover of the team after losing so many top players. Odds are they aren't making playoffs this year so trading that pick might not be in their best interest.

I was wondering what someone would think from the other side. CBJ might be able to attract a couple big free agents if they landed Mcdavid to help out in other areas. Until some of the young guys prove themselves upfront i don't see any main FA heading there

100% it does. You lose scoring in the mcdavid dubois swap for sure, probily atleast 30 points on a good year for dubois. But you're gonna get atleast 20 goals from anderson, 40 points to make up the spread and then jones is a number 1 dman. the 1st is just icing on the cake. This makes edm all around better and not just a one line team.

Have to think they would if they like going with the top end talent > several great players approach. They would still have a solid team:
Nyquist - McDavid - Atkinson
Texier - Wennberg - Bjorkstrand
Foligno - Jenner - Bemstrom
Hannikainen - Dubinsky - Nash
Werenski - Savard
Murray - Nuttivara
Gavrikov/Kukan/Harrington (assuming one can play off hand side)
If I'm the Oilers I think you'd need one more piece that's NHL ready (instead of the 1st) to try to sell it to your fan base that you're still trying to make the playoffs.
Werenski / Jones
Dubois
Anderson
Bemstrom / Texier
The most embarrassing part is that the Oilers would still be missing good bottom 6 players and quality goaltending.
