Yeah; he ended up getting depthed out just because people from IR were returning and he's slide-eligible. He had a meh year in GRG (most of it is at fault of Ben Simons being a horrendous coach), but he looked very good when he was on the Wings. He's going to be a real threat on the PP.

He was sent back down after our guys got healthy, And then he suffered a separated shoulder in GR. I'd imagine he should make the team out of camp this season.

Blues front office and coaching staff seems to have taken a pretty big liking to Toropchenko last season and rightfully so. He was a sparkplug for us in a miserable season. Value may be fine, just don't see him being moved this season.

He got called up early and sent back down for development. No need to rush the behemoth, he is a part of the long term goal.
Depending on this summer, Soda-Kasper-Mazur could be Grand Rapids number 1 line.

Take out Soderblom and it's a done deal.
That's a lot to give up for a Goalie who's seeking 8 x $9,500,000 on his next deal in Connor Hellebuyck.

Marner trade
Please stop.
Since 2016 Toronto has conducted this experiment -- exploring whether you can construct a winning team from the top down. Now that the results are in, and undeniable, and the answer is NO, Toronto fans want to switch places with Los Angeles so that the Kings will look like the top-heavy Maple Leafs and the Maple Leafs will look like the full-depth Kings.
NO.
We're on the upswing. In contrast, as your Big Four contracts expire, you face the prospect of becoming a non-playoff team if you lose even one of them, and utter collapse if Matthews decides to go elsewhere for a better chance at the Cup because you have one of the five worst prospect pools in the League. (The only non-regular you have in your entire system who would make our roster is Matt Knies.)
Keep Mitch Marner for two more seasons. We have a well-balanced team and three of those players are core members of our future. Marner's two seasons wouldn't be anywhere close to sufficient compensation for them.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jjfoster24</b></div><div>LA would probably make that trade. They get one of the best wingers in the league and a starting goalie without losing any core pieces. Timmins is also a solid defenseman.</div></div>
Saying that trading Byfield, Clarke and Vilardi wouldn't be "losing any core pieces" is the worst judgment you'll make this month.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MapleLeafsPhanatic</b></div><div>I would think they do want those players, they get a good young goalie, a cost controlled defenceman and a superstar on a retained contract. Arvidsson is essentially a cap dump and they give up two prospects and a roster player to balance out the value.</div></div>
What awful, uninformed takes. Getting one of the best wingers in the league for only two seasons is not the great boon you guys think it is, since LA wouldn't be able to re-sign him. Timmins is utterly redundant in light of our strength and depth at RhD, so he's valueless to us. Samsonov isn't equivalent in value to any one of our three youngsters. And the idea that Arvidsson is essentially a cap dump is laughably ignorant -- he scored 10 more points this past year than all but four forwards on your team, and I'll go out on a limb and predict that both of you can name those four Maple Leaf forwards without having to look them up.
Absolutely horrible evaluations.

Sportsnet trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Enrique</b></div><div>Marner is the last thing LA needs anyway. They have a ton of wingers and are undersized as it is. Giving up a haul for him would be lunacy.</div></div>
I disagree.
"Lunacy" is being able to form a comprehensible thought ("I will go down to the Police Department . . . ") that is derailed by mental defect (" . . . to buy a bag of marbles.").
The word you are looking for is "stupidity": "I will go down to the Police Department and pull out an unloaded gun and shout EVERYONE ON THE FLOOR!"
We Los Angeles fans should start referring to these idiotic ideas that ignore mathematical reality as "3M" trades: "Moronic Mitch Marner" trades.

Kings sell high on Arvidsson Roy Durzi
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Enrique</b></div><div>Last year half the league was tanking so those points mean nothing. These moves are not a rebuild. You still have Kopitar Doughty Danault Moore Iafallo Fiala Kempe and bring in Gavrikov and Jarry.
These moves are selling high on players that will not be in LA long term in order to patch the holes at goaltending and left defense.
They can patch holes, get some high end draft picks, and fill the slots of these players internally.
Capfriendly LA Kings fans are the biggest homers.
Also they did move Quick…</div></div>
I'm not being a homer. I'm being realistic, Lombardi stopped selling and started buying during the window open and so did Taylor (although he didn't necessarily rebuild). People disagreeing with you doesn't mean that they are a homer do they? I meant that a big reason we opened our compete window was because Kopitar and Doughty specifically asked Blake to, which has been well noted in press articles.
Arvidsson or Durzi could definitely be traded, but I don't see Roy or Lizotte as we don't have the internal pieces to replace them.
Also by reupping Gavrikov and moving his most consistent partner in Roy is a bit confusing and placing him in a defensive role when he played more of a 2-way defenseman role.
I think we need space, but the best way to do it is by moving Petersen, we don't have to agree here, but the team you have icing has alot of rookies playing big minutes: Chromiak, ****emo, and Clarke. This just doesn't gel with how Todd has iced the team.

Our rentals aren't going to bring those returns, and we don't want to give up Matt Roy in any event because there are better ways to address our cap pressure.
Buffalo and Pittsburgh shouldn't be trading their top-half firsts for veterans unless the vets have term.
You should make an effort to show what the forward lines would look like if you made the indicated transactions. Even with what you have here, in my opinion our personnel would be better employed Fiala - Kopitar - Kempe. Moore - Danault - Vilardi, Iafallo - Byfield - Kupari, Anderson Dolan - Turcotte - Kaliyev.

So, I get the idea here is to package up players into higher picks but I think the players here are more quantity rather than quality returns. Roy and Durzi obvi have some value on the market but I don’t think either is in the 1st rd territory.
The Arvidsson trade seems like a reasonable starting point for both.

Walker is absolutely tradeable. He's worth a late 2nd or early 3rd.
Roy is a top quality defensive defenseman. However, comparable contracts suggest that's worth about $4M AAV. He shouldn't break the bank.
Durzi and Walker will both be traded. Roy isn't going anywhere. The Kings will bend over backwards to try and keep Arvidsson, but he could be moved if there's no way around it.

Sure they are selling here but it opens a lot of spots up for their young guys and some free agents. Their team doesn't get any worse, and they get to restock some more prospects/picks for the future. LA is in an AMAZING position for the short and long term.
Although I have no idea why the OP put Chromiak, Martin and ****emo, Samuel as 1st and 2nd line right wingers haha.

Buffalo passes. I don't see them trading the 13th overall pick for a pending UFA. Roy would be a great add to a lot of teams but I would be cautious giving that high of a pick for a UFA.
I would accept if I were ST louis. Durzi for a late first is fair in my mind.
Value is fine for that Pittsburgh trade but I don't see Pits taking on that much cap and trading their 1st.
Ardvisson for a 2nd + prospect to a team looking for a winger.
Lizotte for a 2nd to a team looking for a very cost efficient middle 6 centre/winger.

Thats true, but I think the kings can get a deal done that works for both sides. He clearly wants to be in LA.
I think they can get something for walker (mid round pick maybe). Still a right shot D which carries value league wide. As long as the deal moves his full cap hit Id say its a good return.

Hawks probably decline. Hawks have a massive logjam of LHD prospects so adding Tobias doesn't add much of any value.
That said, now we are taking on a massive cap dump and a injured under-performing Turcotte plus moving back from the 1st to 2nd round in the draft? Hawks better really really believe in Turcotte to give this a proposal a chance, but as of now, I don't see it.

Chabot SHOULD NOT be available. Thank God, Dorion's era is coming to an end, so next management will fix the coaching staff (systems), the depth (bottom-6 has been a major weakness) and roster chemistry/construction
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>McSorley</b></div><div>Chabot is the wrong fit for LA and Ottawa is silly for trading him.</div></div>
Thankfully, hockey Gods exist and the impending team sale should prevent Pierre Dorion from doing anything else of significance. I mean, after 6 years, it's pretty clear that he is not capable of putting the right recipe together
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Enrique</b></div><div>You dont like Chabot? I dont watch every Ottawa game but when I do watch them hes always impressive.</div></div>
I can't think of another NHL player who would benefit more from playing elsewhere, he would shine on a contender but can't be used to his strengths in a non-existent system
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>McSorley</b></div><div>There's a reason why sens fans keep trading him in ACGMs. He's overpaid, inconsistent, defensive flaws, and they think Sanderson is god.</div></div>
Yeah but fans often look for the quick/easy blame when things are not going well. It happened to Spezza, Alfredsson and Karlsson as well.
