Habs have the 7th worst PP this year in the NHL… as far as I’m concerned, MSL can juggle the entire unit.
I do agree that having 2 dman could be a good solution. Burrows would have to change his entire PP structure (which I’m completely fine with lol) and a forward still needs to come out.
Take out Newhook, move Slaf to bumper position? Maybe… 🤔

Yep. He needs to just live with Franky Bouillion. 1 year. See him again pre-season 25-26.

Who knows. I just don't get the Matheson hate. Like he's MAB or something.

Broke out offensively in the OHL this year, but let's be real; you're not playing this kid for his offense.
Like his brother, Florian is an absolute warrior. His toughness alone gives him a direct shot at the NHL. Good pickup for the Habs, nice seeing a draftee get an ELC!

People criticized me for saying Allen - Kaapo were the best acquisitions for the teams that needed a goalie.
The leafs coulda used Allen and imo it will come back to bite them. Also, Allen will retire and immediately become a NHL coach/ performance/ skills coach for goalies as well.

It's cool that its close. But they teams are all below 500. If it was this close and they were all playing well it'd be way better. This season is a solid argument against play in rounds.

Why is Carolina having such a tough time signing their NCAA prospects?</div></div>
No AHL team likely plays a part. I think the fact the Canes are pretty stacked might too

The guy who owned them also owned the Trois-Rivieres Lions and both were about to go bankrupt. AFIAK the owner bailed out Trois-Rivieres but let the Growlers cease operations. Sucks for Newfoundland that they got shafted.

The Leafs are the winners of the Jacob Quillan sweepstakes, a guy out of Quinnipiac who has been overshadowed by Graf. I absolutely love this pickup for the Leafs, high energy center for free. If he doesn't suit up for the Leafs evenutally, I will be extremely disappointed. He's got all the tools

They've all been dominant in Jr, but that's expected for a drafted player. None of those guys move the needle for me. Seattle's biggest weakness is their defensive side of the game, and none of those guys will likely change that.</div></div>
It's still "projecting" but many reputable online scouts/services have Evans-Nelson in the "top 4" projection range.
"Top 4" also depends on the other players in the depth chart, team expectations, etc.
Evans has been a Top 50 Prospect on at least 3 major rankings and has made the jump from AHL to NHL on a good development curve. Now he just needs a couple years seasoning/development in the NHL which he should get when Dumoulin's contract is up; until then he'll be the #7 behind Dunn-Oleksiak-Dumoulin.
Nelson hasn't been as highly ranked but showed up at the World Juniors well and has earned a hard working two-way reputation. His size has always been his biggest knock; but at 5-10 and 196 he is solidly built and he isn't just an offensive dynamo anymore. With Schultz likely gone after this season his pathway is clearer (behind Larsson-Borgen) but he needs at least a season in the AHL IMO

Toronto Maple Leafs signed Simon Benoit (3 Years / $1,350,000 AAV)
He's been an offensive black whole his entire career and this is the first season he's been okay defensively. I would not have paid more than $1.15 million, because that's the maximum buriable amount. That said, the contract is fine.

According to Zipf's law, Philly's combined picks were worth a 13.65 overall pick, while what Winnipeg got was worth 14.65. Close, but Philly did a little better. Only Logan Stanley has a chance of playing another NHL game, but even then, he's likely going to sign for league min 1-year contract hoping to prove he can play and stay healthy.
