He showed during injuries in the regular season he can easily handle top-pairing minutes. The guy is a big body, two way defensemen who was drafted with a 2nd, and is dirt cheap for what he provides. Doesn't matter, as he isn't being moved. This just shows a complete misunderstanding of how the Knights are run, their roster, and the player Hague is.

Offseason
This is a joke right? Hague? For a 4th? Hague isn't moving for anything less than a late first at this point, and he is the last to be a cap casualty this offseason. Let alone for Erik Johnson in a world where we have Dani Miromanov at RD waiting in the wings. This is just absurdity.

Never mind.</div></div>
It would be a future proofing move for VGK. Open a D spot for Miromanov to play, and acquire a 1st line ready, long-term linemate for Eichel.

Sens one could definitely up the retention, or remove pieces. I'm a VGK fan anyway lol. It would be a three-way so some pieces would change hands a bit more anyway.

Yeah no. Nic Roy will not be the cap casualty, and we certainly wouldn't pay to move him. Many teams more than not would give a 2nd for a player like that and what we have proved. In no way is Evans worth Roy and a 4th, even if you paid the whole contract. This is just absurdity to expect VGK to even consider.

Martinez is still a stud who's next contract is going to be a lot lower. Eats shots for breakfast, has great leadership, fantastic defensively. Would fit perfectly as a 2nd pair for the Canucks. He's way better than Graves.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Minnachu</b></div><div>Why would Toronto do that? Heck even Vegas doing that is headscratching.</div></div>
I mean I'm a VGK fan and made the trade. In the event we lose Barbashev we need another winger to play with Eichel, and a long term solution as a linemate for him. Boeser fits the bill, and we already need a cap casualty. So Marty is gone with Cotts to get Boeser with retention.

I think you need to look at the prospect pool. Its actually a pretty solid list of what will be great complimentary players for the already established core of the guys who are in their mid 20s. They've drafted and are developing the players that they need to keep this going long term. The idea of Vegas having no future is really just a myth.

Possible, but Dorofeyev will get the chance over Brisson. Brisson still needs to prove himself in the AHL, and Doro has played great in the NHL chances he has gotten.

Martinez is far more likely of a cap casualty than Smith. Miromanov is ready for a full time spot, and Marti is old and fulfilled his duty. Would likely take more assets to get Debrincat, and Brisson as well. Doubt anyone is too keen to take a gamble on Lehner...

What on earth is this? Not a chance. I would far rather have Roy than Konecy to begin with based on the role both players fill. Never mind that we'd have to pay that much to harm ourselves actively. That is a massive overvalue of Konecy. And Howden? Howden is one of our most promising pieces for the future with how he's been since coming from NYR. He's not leaving, let alone for a 4th. He is an integral part of our second line, and could possibly be one of the faces of the franchise in a few years. Everything about this is terrible.
