This is exactly it. Nor is he gonna be happy with the league min deal he should get, because anything over what they paid ZAR is an overpayment. The guy played his own way down the ladder.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PinkWhitney</b></div><div>Salty Pharrow incoming.</div></div>
Whinny Whitney was here.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Marino4Norris</b></div><div>Sceviour is a legitimate upgrade over guys like Appleton, Lewis, Thompson getting minutes in the Jets bottom 6 so no idea where the waiver wire comment comes from
An equally skilled defenseman would be someone like Riikola, who I mentioned before. Winger that can't crack the top 6 for defenseman that can't crack the top 4</div></div>
This is really the exact value here.
He's not worth nearly what WPG fans want to get for him. It's total over valuation. He didn't get C minutes in WPG because he couldn't play it at the NHL level. He worked his way down the depth chart as he didn't do anything with the 15 minutes of ice time they gave him at even strength every night.
I'm not even a fan of bringing this guy in. We've seen this act over and over before. JR brings in a circus of reclamation projects hoping to find gold but doesn't. That same act has killed the defense.
We already got 3 of them on this team in Matheson, Jankowski and Ceci. We don't really need another. The more dead weight a boat has to carry eventually there is enough weight that sinks the ship.

Pittsburgh Penguins signed Cody Ceci (1 Year / $1,250,000 AAV)
Relax with all the hate. He's a fine NHL defenseman. His issue in Toronto was they tried to play him as a top pairing dman. Fairly paid on the third pair with 2nd duty pk time he'll be totally average for a 1.25 million dollar defenseman.
Honestly seems like a smart move to me.

I don’t know why you would trade Pettersson for that. He’s a top 4 d-man, 24, years old, just signed him to a decently priced long-term deal. I think you’d have to get more for Pettersson.

If Pens sign him for less, something like 2M or 1.5M, it'd be great. I hope so. I was agressive here.

You deserve it Murray, I don't care what anyone else says! We will miss you in Pittsburgh!
But yeah no way Penguins would have been able to give him this, so makes sense for trading him.

According to those I linked it said he’s a center which is what I went off of
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ragsandbluesfan</b></div><div>Hes a LW'er</div></div>
But with your link, you are right, 50 face offs is not an NHL center idk why he’s listed centering lines on dobber
Either way I just shifted the lines

Tierney
As an Oilers fan who has no dog in this fight, I think this would be smart for both teams. Ottawa would have a goalie that, if he brings what he has shown before, could really accelerate their rebuild. And Pit gets a great 3C to be a legitimate balanced contender again if the team stays healthy.

I think that’s a pretty decent proposal for both teams. Tierney is a safe bet for the pens and Murray could be very useful for the sens if he even slightly rebounds

Yeah, no. POJ doesnt belong in this trade when JJ is just a contract that is offloaded by Detroit next year for free in the Seattle expansion draft. A Third and a second at most should be enough to move the Johnson contract given what it took to move Marc Staal.

Toronto Maple Leafs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Marino4Norris</b></div><div>Why does Andersen get a better return than Murray</div></div>
He certainly wont. Andersen is a cap dump. Leafs fans really believe every other fan base lives in the same size bubble as them. The whole league knows Andersen is being dangled. Leverage is zero for Dubas. Murray is much younger and better with team control. Andersen is a rental goalie

Tanevs
Jack Johnson isn’t really a player that the pens should have to throw in a ridiculous sweetener. His contract isn’t really that bad. His buyout isn’t that bad. His play on the ice is really the only thing bad. But with teams losing money and setting internal caps for their teams and wanting players that are making less than there actual cap hits, Jack Johnson is one of those players. Not saying I think the pens would get any return or even trade him, but he isn’t un-moveable. I could see a draft day trade for Murray. Or once some of the free agents sign. But the market isn’t exactly flooded with top tier talent. Now that Lehner is signed, Murray might actually be the most intriguing goalie left in the market. Holtby has been on the decline the last three years posting worse stats than Murray and coming to the end of his prime. Can Talbot is older and always been pretty inconsistent. Calgary would have just re-signed him right away rather than inquiring about Murray if Talbot was better. Mike Smith is...well Mike Smith. Corey Crawford is like 80 years old. I think the hawks will re-sign him anyway. Howard is nearing retirement. Doubt a team looks at him as a starter. Miller won’t go anywhere that is rebuilding or far from the west coast. Kinda limits the options for teams like Detroit, Ottawa, buffalo, etc. Korpisalo/Merzlikins would be the only ones I could think of being better options than Murray but likely have a much higher cost.
