possible leafs team after the ceci trade for opening night
You see, <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>draft_em_sign_em_trade_em</b></div><div>What's the obsession with Leaf fans with Benning and Heed?</div></div>
Leafs are in cap trouble, there is no denying that. Benning and Heed both have lower cap hits and are capable NHL defencemen. They arent superstars and never will be, but they are serviceable and can get the job done at a cheap cap hit.

Kadri alone has enough of a value for Calgary to "win" the trade, although the leafs might have to add a potential roster player due to the fact that Calgary is giving up 2 players.

That Calgary trade is bad for the leafs... Kadri would probably get that trade done alone, if not throw in a pick or a lower tier prospect, Bracco shouldn't be involved.

You're obviously not understanding what i am saying.
Bob McKenzie said that Zaistev could be headed to Ottawa along with a sweetener (Player or Pick).
I am saying that I would rather send Zaistev and a pick to Ottawa because a player like brown could be used in a trade by himself. (Like i have done in this post)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Price_is_the_goat</b></div><div>according to bob mckenzie, connor brown is part of the zaitsev trade</div></div>
"It could be a player (Connor Brown?) or it could be a pick."
I would rather have it be a pick. Connor Brown used to be teammates with McDavid back in junior so there is a connection there. I feel like with the right amount of ice time with a good center (McDavid, Draisaitl or Nugent-Hopkins) he could be a 20 goal man again.

Minimal trades after Ceci deal improving RD
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NR1203</b></div><div>If he leaves, I'd use the cap space to bring back Gards (he would take a discount to come back), Sign Anders Lee (obvious fit with Tavares) and use a couple of the draft picks to trade for a good D, as you said.</div></div>
Interesting... you should make a team on here showing it. Id like to see how it all fits together

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>swinny</b></div><div>I know I haven't had enough coffee yet, but, are you gonna sign Ceci?</div></div>
Personally i dont think its a good idea to sign him. I would trade him to another team like i did here.
Im pretty sure there is also a situation where the leafs could deny his arbitration or something and would let him walk.

Minimal trades after Ceci deal improving RD
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NR1203</b></div><div>I hope that's not the case with Marner. If he gets what he thinks he's worth on the FA market (A.K.A Matthews money), we let him walk and take the 4 firsts. I doubt he will, though.</div></div>
If he does go the offersheet route i really hope he does it sooner rather than later. Then we could possibly target a good UFA,we also would have those 4 1sts so we could package those off to a rebuilding team for something.

Forgot to add Hyman to IR, just fixed it. Sadly i think were going to end up overpaying for Marner, or else he will sign an offer sheet or we will trade him.

What I would do with recent Ceci news
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>omulls</b></div><div>Honestly, I love it. I’m really hopeful Dubas is planning on flipping Ceci for a pick or a part of a package, because otherwise he would be our only RHD... ugh.
Also the Calgary trade needs to happen, even if we have to throw in a pick and/or prospect.</div></div>
Thank you, i dont see dubas keeping Ceci at this point. Ceci is just not a "Dubas type player".
And for the calgary trade, i think its pretty equal value, according to this trade analyzer the value is around the same as well. <a href="http://prntscr.com/o8mndq" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">http://prntscr.com/o8mndq</a>

8.25 AAV is a great contract for someone who had 91 points last year... youre wild.

if you're a jets fan im surprised you'd do this, gudbranson has a terrible contract and has negative value
also i think laine goes for more of a bridge contract due to last season being the way it was for him, he could go out and score 50 next season and then his potential contract would go up dramatically

no Right handed defencemen on this roster, replace ron hainsey with tim heed (a better option) and that saves around 1.5 mill to put into a better 3c/4c/wingers. why not also go after a defenceman on calgary with kadri?
