Great AAV tbh. Term isn't too bad as he's fairly decent and still 25. If he gets 40-45 points in even just one of those 7 years, this is really good value. Cap should be way higher in 7 years.
For comparison, Tanev got 3.5 x 6 w/ a modified NTC and Sissons was even more productive.

Murray first cup run..... 15 wins 6 loses
Murray 2nd cup run he was hurt the first half. 7 wins 3 loses.
So let’s just compare binningtons first cup to Murray’s
Murray. 15w 6L 2.08 gaa. .923s%
Binnington 16w 10L 2.46gaa .914 s%
Murray during his first cup run was a lot better haha. OH YEAH he was also 22 years old not 26.
So besides the stupid what has he done “ got swept” comment. He’s won 2 cups. The first cup his numbers are miles better then you boys.... back seat to flurry is also funny bc fluery didn’t get a single win the first cup year.
I get you’re excited but what has binnington done? He had 1 good year..... that’s great but doesnt make him better than Murray. Not even close

Murray was the primary starter in his first cup run, was hurt the first two rounds the next year but finished out the next two rounds. He definitely was not the backseat driver

Binnington has 7 more reg season games than playoff Games haha he’s good but nowhere near Murray. Murray won 2 cups and is still one year younger than him. Binnington also cost his teams games all 4 series. Maybe have him play an entire season before glorifying him to Murray’s level. I think he’s good but Murray during that first cup run was unstoppable

Carolina Hurricanes signed Ryan Dzingel (2 Years / $3,375,000 AAV)
Carolina look like a solidified team
Williams has said he's either gonna come back to the team or retire, if he comes back this is one of the better league wide forward cores
Defensively, Carolina's is a top 5 unit, has been for a while
IF the goaltending is reliable, Carolina look good. I'm impressed with what Waddell and Dundon turned this team into. Full props, and we may end up being a SERIOUS contender next year. We didn't lose anyone of value outside Ferland, and we replaced him with Haula and Dzingel (I think I'll live with that) Carolina, should the goaltending hold, look like a contender. This may be in the prisioner if the moment, but they should have a full 4 RW who scored more than 15 goals next year (Svech 20, Dzingel 26, Williams 23, Martinook 15) and 3 potential 20 goal Centres with Staal, Aho and Haula. Throw in Teravainen and Nino Niederriter who had around the 25 goal mark each, Martin Necas and the progression of Warren Foegele, this is a scary team.

cap is going to continually go up. that amount may change year to year but 4 years from now cap could be 8m higher if you only use 2m per year raise, if that number goes up to 3m per year average its 12m extra in cap room.

Quoting: Grabo86

That is the space with a full roster. I'm not saying they wouldn't need to make room, but they wouldn't need to move a $6M player, which is what gregb567 said was necessary. Also, I was quoting gregb567, not you, so I don't know why you started by saying "i know there are ways to manipulate the cap". You know that, sure, but gregb567 didn't

11.1 is the space available with 20 players, i did a marner cap space earlier. i came up with the exact amount you said with only 20 players. the "full roster" is 23 players. so i mean you add in mikhayev 925k and 2 700k players and you are down to below 9m in actual space.

lol i know there are ways to manipulate the cap, but you are going to roll 20 players all year? what happens when anderson is hurt for 9 games, cant call up a backup goalie. what happens if a guy like kapanen gets injured for 9 games. cant call up a right winger. you can get somewhat tricky with the cap, especially where hyman and dermott start on ltir. but to come out and say they have 11.1m in space without a full roster isnt it my man. they have to move someone out to fill the roster.

Trouba wants $7.5+ million and they still need to resign Buchnevich, Lemieux, and Deangelo. So ... ?
Do you think they're gonna give a guy like Krieder away for free?
If they're forced to make a trade ... they'll get a fair amount of young / cheap assets back.
Just like any other team that makes trades.

What did Buffalo do that makes you feel like they're "winning the off-season?"
I think the Skinner contract will end up being the worst of the summer (especially in a few years).
I don't see how Buffalo's off-season could even be compared to the Rangers or Leafs ... for example:
THE RANGERS GOT THIS:
Artemi Panarin
Jacob Trouba
Adam Fox
Kaapo Kakko
Brandon Lemieux
Darren Raddysh
Gregg McKegg
2ND - 2019
3RD - 2020
3RD - 2021
4TH - 2019
7TH - 2019
7TH - 2020
FOR THIS:
Mats Zuccarello
Adam McQuaid
Jimmy Vesey
Neal Pionk
Ville Heinola
2ND - 2019
3RD - 2020
How would you compare that to Buffalo's off season?
