I doubt either move would be good for the Capitals. Gotta pass on this one man.

I think the Blue Jackets take that 9 times out of 10 but his ceiling is so high. He's a Backstrom copy he's just not there yet. I think he'd thrive with the caps. So many talented scorers on the wing. I just don't see it happening before the deadline. Caps don't want to lose all that depth.

Please don't trade Chandler Stephenson.

Maybe take Eller out of that Columbus trade and put in Jaskin.

Wennberg and Burakovsky are the same age. Counting playoffs, Wennberg has almost thirty more points. Two 2nd round picks make up for that. Wennberg is not defensively sound enough to make up for losing Eller, let alone Eller plus Stephenson.

When Backstrom was Burakovsky's and Wennberg's age, he had more points than both of them, put together. So I completely agree with your evaluation of this trade, as not really something Washington should go for. What would you think if it had Jaskin instead of Eller? Do the Caps then have to add a center prospect to make it work for Columbus? If so, would you be more excited about Megna or Gersich?
