I agree Stone would probably like to stay in Canada, so I could see either MTL or VAN going for him.
EDM and CGY would be great fits but would have trouble salary wise.
TOR and WPG couldn't afford him.
OTT probably isn't an option to Stone anymore.

MTL and VAN seem like the only fits.

throw in Perlini and sure
otherwise Shaw and Domi's Chemistry is just to solid

16 points in 17 games after being paired with Domi before injury .
Domi's really high on Shaw to even putting the Media in their place on the Shaw subject saying '' if you dont know why Shaw is important to this team , then you dont know hockey ... you just dont ''

Domi and Shaw for atleast this year is more valuable to MTL then a 2nd pick alone , we'd need a roster player capable of filling a 2nd/3rd winger role ... enter Perlini

thats a pretty solid logic .
i can see that to , and if he comes to MTL he doesnt have to move .

that being said if WPG can find a home for Wheeler and get 6 years younger on their wing i think they would go all in .
Wheeler could land them a good package from a team in desperate need on a top 6 playmaker like EDM or SJS (jumbo joe isnt getting any younger and Wheeler helps fill the void after he leaves as the big bodied playmaker .

Stone could play for his home Province and i think on a team with Centers like WPG he might be able to hit 100 points as he's hit 60 points on a team with no real direction and he's not even in his Prime yet. Given stone lead the NHL the last 3 years in takeaways this helps WPG not only offensively but defensively as well . Stone would likely sign for a similar deal to Wheelers or maybe even take a discount to help his home province build a cup team .

but that's a lot of what if's. Most likely i see him in VAN just because him with Petterson and Horvat has to be tempting as their youth is solid which is why we hired their guy Eric Crawford to help Timmons breathe new life back into MTL(every draft since 3-4 players stand out including 4 at the world juniors this year . )

Yeah Stone would absolutely tear it up with WPG, but imo the Jets wouldn't want to move Wheeler, and Wheeler would definitely not have Ottawa on his trade list.

And I agree Vancouver is the more attractive option, at least when it comes to the other forwards. Boeser, Pettersson, Horvat, and Stone are a solid forward core.

maybe WPG is to far gone cap wise to be reasonable .
if they moved out kulikov, perrault and meyers they still wouldnt have the cap for their RFA's and Stone .

its to bad for him but c'est la vie.

i wouldnt mind stone in MTL but i'd rather target Duchene as him and Danault could really help Kotkanemi and Poehling grow into Center role's at the top levels .
Stone's something we need but its a short term need , Center has been a need since Koivu left .
