Yeah I’m pretty sure a team can only retain salary on up to like 3 players. So this ain’t going to work

Cheap ones like Dzingel and Paajarvi I guess. But that still leaves you with 4 including Phaneuf. But any team that be willing to take Ceci would have to have cap space for him anyways, since he’s an RFA next season and has to be signed for at least 100% of his current cap hit. Otherwise he becomes a UFA

The Calgary and Winnipeg trades are awful. Giving way too much (Calgary) and getting a terrible return (Winnipeg) . Ottawa doesn't even entertain conversations around such packages..
