Description

Rangers will be drafting #2 overall and will likely take Kaapo Kakko. This gives the NYR 3 very skilled, offensive lines with the addition of Panarin as well. Weakest spot is #2 center with Namestnikov but he can be a placeholder and can slide up and down the lineup as the young centers develop. Can also switch with Chytil and play LW on the 3rd line.

Chicago unites the Strome brothers and give up a mid 2nd round pick with the addition of the retained salary. Probably a bit of an overpayment for Strome, potential to throw Pionk into that deal as well.

IF NYR can find a trade for Namestnikov or even someone who would take Staal (unlikely, doubt NYR even trade him since he was only D-man not to be a healthy scratch this year), maybe make a run at bringing back Hayes or Zucc depending on where they envision Chytil long-term.

Hawks are looking for a guy that can take faceoffs, which Strome definitely cannot. Rather have Anisimov than Strome frankly.
