No. Detroit is getting shafted. Larkin is legit. And will likely be better than Duchene.

Try looking at the deal closer. This is how it works out.
Barrie+Duchene>> Tatar +Nyquist
Larkin= Comeau + Grigorenko + 2nd round pick + eating Datsyuks 7.5 million cap hit.

I'd argue that this trade works out. That 7.5 mil cap relief alone nets you a Radulov or an Okposo with some wiggle room to spare
