Description
Kings get 3 years of Kadri for one year of Lewis. For getting the superior player in Kadri, Kings take the expensive Marleau for a year. Believe it would make Leafs and Kings cap compliant.. Not sure about the bottom end Kings players, but you get the idea.

Not even close, you dont get a free second line centre for taking on ONE YEAR of a cap dump.

Kadri

His 16 goals and 28 assists doesn't scream second line centre. Although with more "2nd minutes" he has some more production. Don't be fooled by his two 30 goal seasons. He didn't get those goals being a second line centre, 13 of those goals a year where scored as LWer on the PP.
I'm willing to see any post where it logical for a team to take Marleau and his 6.25m for one year. And since there are limited amount of teams on Marleau's trade list,, that can afford Marleau the Leafs have are going to have to overpay for a Marleau trade.

Kadri is a second line matchup centre who can be very effective on the pp with a cap hit of 4.5 with term. He is prone to the "red mist factor" and will get suspended of it means sticking up for his teammate's. He is still able to be a pest and produce 50+ points a year

This is the the player you would be getting if you trade for him. For most of the year his linemates consisted of offensive black holes. If you want production out of him, he needs a playmaking winger. He is EXTREMELY valuable to any team, and Toronto is lucky to have him

As for the stupid Marleau thing, he is useful in a limited role and he is a great influence around the younger guys. If a team (in the west coast) could use a player like that PLUS receive a draft pick/prospect I'm absolutely certain they would. This is not the worst contract in the league! Toronto could take back a contract and/ retain some salary if needed
