    JohnfitgeraldMcLane: Maybe this post should "Die Hard", since there is no cap and three players short on the roster. Montreal would start getting into a bad cap situation in 2020/21, with an overpaid Marner and their RFAs to sign.

    Marner isn't going anywhere, they will get a deal done. Zaitsev has asked for a trade and the Leafs will trade him at some point for little return. Brown is likely gone to give the depth youth a chance.

    Can't see the Leafs being in on Karlsson or Karlsson wanting to sign with the Leafs. Leafs make a trade for a RD or sign someone like Myers before they give $10m plus to Karlsson, they have to many players making over $10m.
