Description

I know it's far too early for this but you always need an eye on the future.

So I don't really see Frost and Farabee spending more than one year in the AHL and I don't think Rubtsov does either. In fact I'd guess that Rubtsov makes his NHL debut this coming season, and it wouldn't surprise me if the others did too if enough injures occur.

Lines are largely whatever, especially on D - I could see Ghost having a big bounce back and being in the top 4 by the middle of next season. But who knows.

In any event I guess it would make JVR the odd man out? Or Voracek? Maybe if Frost makes it out of camp really shines you can consider moving Patrick - though the return would surely bring more cap in back leading to the same issue... Just wondered what people thoughts are?

JVR will probably be lost in expansion. Think Frost makes the team this year as our 3LW, Farabee and Ruby playing in 2020-2021. This team seems reasonable though.

Looking at that d core gives me another reason as to why we should not deal Ghost.

I think that, health permitting, Rubtsov will be the first forward call up. I could see Frost (less so Farabee) making the team from camp but I think Rubtsov is the first guy they call up from the Phantoms in season regardless who's down there. I wonder if the hope over the next few seasons if to move one of JVR or Voracek and lose the other in the expansion draft (with a first round pick or prospect or other incentive).

Makes a lot of cap sense for the Flyers down the road with the likes of Frost, Farabee, Rubtsov, Ratcliffe, Allison, Brink, etc, all seemingly good beats to at least be NHL quality players.
