Well first off, you've got a big goaltending problem that you really have not addressed. Second, there is absolutely no chance Chris Kreider signs with the Oilers , let alone for $4.5 million. He will get as much or more that what Anders Lee just got.

the goalie situation is up in the air. if the goalies they have **** the bed this year then ya 3-4 million will have to be directed there. as for the free agents that was more about the money that could be spent there than the actual players themselfs

I am not sure throwing more money at the goalie issue is the answer, especially because they tried that very recently with both Cam Talbot and then Mikko Koskinen. I think the Oilers, at some point, will need to part with an important piece in order to acquire a young netminder they can build up within the organization. I feel like Vancouver might have your answer in Jacob Markstrom, since I doubt Thatcher Demko is going anywhere anytime soon, but is being groomed to become their #1. Also, there's a young very good backup in NYR, Alexandar Georgiev. Just throwing a few names out there for you.
