Bold prediction on marner... I would tell you how wrong you are but your guess is as good as mine. I will say that a 1 year deal is very risky for marner.

I’d really like to know how these negotiations play out. Obviously Marner has a number in mind and so do the Leafs. How do they bridge that gap? Daily phone calls of “Commmeee onnnnnn”? Going by what Dubas said with the Nylander situation, it felt like they played chicken until Nylander called literally at the last minute. Hopefully Dubas feels out possible trades before it gets close to what happened with Nylander.
